Women In Trucking Foundation Receives $50,000 from C.H. Robinson to Support Scholarship Awards for Women Pursuing Transportation Careers

Empowering Women in Trucking: The Women In Trucking Foundation Scholarship Program

The Women In Trucking (WIT) Foundation scholarship program changes lives. It breaks down barriers, facilitating opportunities for women in the male-dominated trucking industry.

By offering financial support through its scholarship program, the WIT Foundation allows women to overcome financial barriers to access education and training programs, empowering them to pursue successful careers in trucking. Recipients also receive a one-year membership to the WIT Association, which comes with access to mentorship, networking and education resources.

As part of the Spring 2023 application cycle, over 100 applications were received, from which 31 recipients in the Leadership, Driving, Safety and Technical categories were selected. Read the full press release.

New Board Members Appointed to Women In Trucking Foundation Board, Strengthening Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion in the Trucking Industry

The Women In Trucking (WIT) Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of three new board members to its esteemed board of directors: Darcy Harper, CPA, Partner, Transportation Tax Consulting LLC; Jennifer Plumlee, WIT Association Liaison, VP Managed Logistics and LTL at J.B. Hunt Transport Services, and; Kathleen Roseman, Vice President, Fleet Sales at TravelCenters of America. 

"We are thrilled to welcome these three new directors to the Women In Trucking Foundation board," said Board Chair Theresa Check, Director, Western RSO, Hyundai Translead. "They each bring passion for empowering women. Their extensive experience in the industry make them valuable assets to our organization. We are confident that the unique insights and strategic thinking brought to the table by these three women will help drive our mission forward and create positive change within the trucking community."

Funds support the industry by providing scholarships to ambitious students, drivers, and professionals in the trucking industry who seek to grow their skills through classroom and vocational training. Thank you to all our partners who make it possible to support these amazing women!


 

WOMEN IN TRUCKING FOUNDATION CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

The Women In Trucking Foundation celebrated International Women's Day with a fundraising event with the Trimble Transportation Women’s Network! Trimble employees heard from two women in the trucking industry, Kellylynn McLaughlin, Driver Ambassador, CMV Driver Trainer, OTR Driver for WiT and Gail Wearsch, Vice President, Fleet Sales, Channel Partner Programs for TravelCenters of America and Women In Trucking Foundation Chair.

The event raised $1,000 for the Women In Trucking Foundation to help support the foundations efforts to provide scholarships to ambitious students, drivers, and professionals in the trucking industry who seek to grow their skills through classroom and vocational training. Thank you to the Trimble Transportation Women’s Network!
